Thinking about university but concerned about the cost or lack of support? The Social Housing Scholarships Programme is designed to help social housing residents succeed in higher education and build rewarding careers.
Delivered by Clarion Futures in partnership with Blackbullion and leading housing organisations, the programme provides financial support, professional development and hands-on industry experience to help students thrive during and after university.
What You’ll Receive
Successful applicants will benefit from a wide range of support throughout their university journey, including:
- Up to £6,000 per year towards living costs and study materials
- Paid summer internships with housing organisations
- One-to-one mentoring, workshops and networking opportunities
- Volunteering opportunities to strengthen skills and community impact
The programme is open to people at different stages of life and education — whether you are leaving school, changing careers or returning to study later in life.
Who Can Apply?
You may be eligible if you are:
- A social housing resident in England
- Starting or continuing an undergraduate degree in September 2026
- Interested in personal development, mentoring and internship opportunities
- Motivated to build a career connected to housing, communities or the built environment
There are no minimum grade requirements beyond university entry criteria. The programme focuses on ambition, potential and lived experience.
