"Good for business, Good for people"

The Living Wage Foundation has announced new London Living Wage rates, set to be implemented from April 2025. The hourly rate will increase by 6% to £13.85, up from the previous £13.15. This adjustment reflects the Foundation's commitment to ensuring wages align with the actual cost of living in the capital.
The London Living Wage is a voluntary rate that over 4,000 employers in the city have adopted, including half of the FTSE 100 companies. This initiative benefits more than 140,000 workers, providing them with a wage that better meets the high living costs in London.
For a full-time worker, this increase means earning approximately £4,700 more annually compared to those on the government's National Living Wage, which is currently £11.44 per hour for adults aged 21 and older. Employers had six months to implement the new rates, with some choosing to backdate the increase to ensure their employees benefit promptly.
By adopting the London Living Wage, employers are playing a crucial role in supporting and improving their employees' financial/mental well-being which will in turn benefit the business retention rate which contributes to a more equitable city.
