Last month, we came together at the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE) to celebrate the incredible impact of the Health and Life Sciences Community Innovation Fund. The event was a testament to the power of innovation, collaboration, and the bright future of Lambeth’s young people in the growing life sciences sector.

A highlight of the day was the enthusiastic participation of our attendees in a hands-on science experiment, showcasing the exciting possibilities within health and life sciences. We were also privileged to hear from inspirational speakers, including the talented young people from our Lambeth borough, who shared their experiences and aspirations for the future.

A special thank you to Cllr Marcia Cameron, whose presence and words of encouragement reinforced the importance of community-driven initiatives in shaping the sector.

A Huge Round of Applause!

  • The young creatives from We Rise for their inspiring short films, highlighting the power of storytelling in science and innovation.
  • The students from Motivez, who delivered an outstanding pitch, demonstrating the passion and drive of the next generation.
  • Liminal Space and The Brixton Project for producing creative and innovative tools to engage the community in what life sciences involves.
  • Our partners, mentors, and funders, whose unwavering support has made this initiative possible.

The Health and Life Sciences Community Innovation Fund has successfully engaged Lambeth residents through school outreach, mentorship programmes, and work experience opportunities. This event was not just a reflection of past achievements but a glimpse into an exciting, inclusive future for Lambeth in the life sciences sector.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event such a memorable and impactful occasion. Let’s continue to innovate, inspire, and build a future where our local community thrives in the world of health and life sciences!
