The Real London Living Wage has increased to £15.45 an hour for 2026/27, reflecting the cost of living in London. As the Living Wage movement celebrates its 25th anniversary, Lambeth employers are encouraged to commit to fair pay by becoming accredited Living Wage employers.

The Real London Living Wage is a voluntary rate calculated to reflect what working people need to afford everyday essentials. It is separate from the government’s statutory National Living Wage.

Paying the Real London Living Wage can help employers attract and retain staff, recognise the value of their workforce and contribute to a fairer, stronger local economy.

Cllr Michael Chessum, Lambeth Cabinet Member for Economy, Cost of Living and Empowered Communities, said:

“Having a job should provide a route out of poverty, but too many working households still struggle to afford the essentials. The Real London Living Wage helps employers turn their commitment to fair pay into practical support for their staff.”

Become an accredited Living Wage employer

Lambeth employers can find out more about the new rates, the benefits of accreditation and how to become an accredited Living Wage employer through the Living Wage Foundation.
