Lambeth has hit a major milestone with 300 accredited Living Wage employers, demonstrating our borough's commitment to fair pay and economic inclusion across diverse sectors, including catering, the arts, IT, pet care, hospital work, and more.

Why the London Living Wage Matters

The London Living Wage (£13.85/hour) is the only UK wage rate based on the real cost of living, ensuring workers are treated fairly. It’s not just about pay—it’s a commitment to building thriving communities and stronger businesses.

Cllr Marcia Cameron, Cabinet Member for Economic Inclusion, said:
"This milestone reflects a shared commitment to creating a future where everyone can participate in the local economy. Living Wage plays a vital role in keeping local economies thriving."

What Businesses Are Saying

  • Studio Voltaire (Art Gallery): "Paying a Living Wage supports people to stand on their own two feet. It shows we will look after them."
  • KINDE (Media Agency): "It motivates teams and helps businesses succeed. Every organisation wants fair, responsible partners."
  • Esports Youth Club: "It pays off in staff satisfaction and builds trust with service users."
  • Team Jump (IT Consultants): "It’s about employee wellbeing—not just ticking boxes."
