Celebrating Our Sustainable London Winners!

Our Motivez Sustainable London Champions 2025 have just wrapped up an incredible work experience, and we couldn’t be prouder!

Alongside their cash prize and first-place trophy, six talented students from Evelyn Grace Academy, who won the Sustainable London competition in July, spent the week with King’s Health Partners, as part of the SC1 London Health and Life Sciences Innovation District, diving into the world of Health and Life Sciences and developing their Sustain-a-Cast prototype even further.

Throughout the last week of the programme, they shadowed surgeons, pharmacists, doctors, and scientists; took part in lab simulations; and explored surgical engineering and Synnovis labs, where they learned to analyse blood samples and evaluate the sustainability of medical devices. They met with orthopaedic surgeons to learn about cutting edge innovations in fracture treatment and orthopaedic surgery. And to top it off, they interviewed one of the world’s leading robotic urological surgeons, gaining hands-on insight into medical innovation and how they can help shape the future of healthcare.

A huge thank you to SC1 London for organising the week, Kings College London, and to Lambeth Council for funding and supporting this initiative -  helping us deliver this impactful programme in Lambeth. A special thank you to Joseph Casey for facilitating this collaboration, Remy Andrews for curating an incredible itinerary for the students, and Christie for her support in managing the overall work experience.

Finally, congratulations to our brilliant students for their hard work, creativity, and curiosity throughout the week and during the Final Showcase on Friday, where they presented their enhanced prototype to an audience including Councillor Marcia Cameron, Councillor Donatus Anyanwu, and representatives from Lambeth Council and SC1 London. Their innovative solution truly impressed the room and sparked real excitement about how their idea could be brought to life.
