Success Story

Celebrating Inclusive Employment Success in Lambeth:

All 19 Supported Interns took part, showcasing their skills and experience directly to local employers. The event created valuable networking opportunities and shone a spotlight on inclusive recruitment practices — including the Disability Confident Scheme and Access to Work support.

Here’s what people had to say:

“It’s been a rewarding experience. It was really good to sit down and spend time with each candidate, understand what they’ve been doing, and see their enthusiasm.”Luciana Campos, Multiplex Construction Europe

“It’s just great to have the opportunity to help find people where they belong.”Tilly, Travelodge

“I can really recommend going to these events — both as an employer and as an intern.”Sam Bowring, Vistry

On top of that, we were thrilled to mark the graduation of our very first Project Search interns at the Town Hall. Project Search is a one-year supported internship programme for young people with learning disabilities or autism. This year, eight interns gained experience working at Lambeth Council and with local employers, while eleven more developed their skills at King’s College Hospital and NHS England.

It was inspiring to celebrate our interns’ achievements alongside families, colleagues, and partners who make this work possible — all helping to drive our Equity and Justice agenda forward.

We look forward to welcoming our next group of interns in September — and we encourage more teams to get involved.
