Diversity, Equality & Inclusion in Construction:

On October 21 at Lambeth Town Hall, Vistry hosted a powerful Diversity, Equality & Inclusion in Construction Recruitment Event, shining a light on the importance of representation and allyship across the built environment.

The event brought together residents, employers, and industry partners to celebrate BME communities in construction — offering inspiring talks, live job and training opportunities, and heartfelt conversations about lived experiences in the industry.

Attendees described the event as “touching,” “welcoming,” and “a safe space for people to open up.”

Amira (Vistry): “I’ve been to events like this before, but this is the first time an event has touched my heart.”

Henry Conteh (Lambeth resident): “Everyone spoke from real experiences — it gave me confidence to find work.”

Desiree Blamey (Considerate Constructors Scheme): “Hearing those experiences helped me understand how to be a better ally.”

Employers who joined included Vistry/MTVH, Keltbray, Capital City College, Be Lambeth, First Step Trust, Skill Spire, PhD Access, and Quinn London — all supporting a more inclusive future for the construction sector.
