Interested in a career in construction? The Net Zero Contractors Challenge is a free programme designed to help young people develop practical skills, explore exciting careers and connect with employers in the growing green construction sector.
Taking place from 5 August to 3 September 2026, the programme offers hands-on experiences, industry insight and support to help you progress into employment, apprenticeships or further opportunities. Registration takes place on 3 August 2026.
What you'll learn
During the programme, you'll have the opportunity to explore a range of construction trades and sustainable building practices, including:
- Insulation
- Ventilation
- Green technologies
- Low-carbon construction
- Bricklaying
- Plumbing and electrical
- Painting and decorating
You'll also receive
- One-to-one employment support
- The opportunity to gain a CSCS card
- Access to work experience, jobs and apprenticeship opportunities
- The chance to meet employers, industry professionals and visit live construction sites
Who can apply?
You can take part if you are:
- A Lambeth resident
- Aged 16–19 (or up to 25 if you have SEND or are care experienced)
- Not currently in education, employment or training (NEET)
