Build Your Future in Construction

Interested in a career in construction? The Net Zero Contractors Challenge is a free programme designed to help young people develop practical skills, explore exciting careers and connect with employers in the growing green construction sector.

Taking place from 5 August to 3 September 2026, the programme offers hands-on experiences, industry insight and support to help you progress into employment, apprenticeships or further opportunities. Registration takes place on 3 August 2026.

What you'll learn

During the programme, you'll have the opportunity to explore a range of construction trades and sustainable building practices, including:

  • Insulation
  • Ventilation
  • Green technologies
  • Low-carbon construction
  • Bricklaying
  • Plumbing and electrical
  • Painting and decorating

You'll also receive

  • One-to-one employment support
  • The opportunity to gain a CSCS card
  • Access to work experience, jobs and apprenticeship opportunities
  • The chance to meet employers, industry professionals and visit live construction sites

Who can apply?

You can take part if you are:

  • A Lambeth resident
  • Aged 16–19 (or up to 25 if you have SEND or are care experienced)
  • Not currently in education, employment or training (NEET)
